Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000038_00072]The night I met Drew Jagger, he’d just broken into my new Park Avenue office.
I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills.
He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing.

Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant.
Only, turned out, he wasn’t an intruder at all.

Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He’d been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.
Which was how a scammer got away with leasing me office space that wasn’t really available for rent.
I was swindled out of ten grand.

The next day, after hours at the police station, Drew took pity on me and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. In exchange for answering his phones while his secretary was out, he’d let me stay until I found a new place.
I probably should have acted grateful and kept my mouth shut when I overheard the advice he was spewing to his clients. But I couldn’t help giving him a piece of my mind.
I never expected my body to react every time we argued. Especially when that was all we seemed to be able to do.

The two of us were complete opposites. Drew was a bitter, angry, gorgeous-as-all-hell, destroyer of relationships. And my job was to help people save their marriages.
The only thing the two of us had in common was the space we were sharing.
And an attraction that was getting harder to deny by the day.

Where do I begin with this review? The whole book was amazing, it’s gonna be hard to write a review and do this book justice..but, here goes……..

Egomaniac, aka Drew Jagger, is returning from a trip to Hawaii to his New York office that was being renovated while he was gone. Drew is a divorce attorney that has a major burr up his butt when it comes to women. He only takes the male client part of the divorce. Since he went through a divorce and saw what a lying, scheming, gold digging woman he divorced; women in general have left a bitter taste in his mouth and he decides the men is who he will be looking out for during each divorce. Of course, that doesn’t stop him from having his “hit it and quit it” sessions with the opposite sex. He sees a light on in the file room and he heads to it to cut the light off. When he approaches there’s a woman…who is freaking out and screaming while standing in a chair. She’s screaming at him? She scared the sh** out of him!! Then she threatens to call 911 and beat him up with her Krav Maga skills because this is her office? Either she’s crazy or there’s been a terrible mix up.

Emerie Rose left Oklahoma and moved to New York following the man she thought she loved, Baldwin. He never pays attention to her, but hey, a girl can hope that he’ll notice what a catch she is. She is a psychologist and lands a deal on an office that’s on Park Avenue. She jumps at the chance John Cougar offers her. She’s in her new office and some man comes in and that’s when her life and dreams get turned upside down. He’s telling her she got scammed out of her life savings and the building belongs to him and he did not rent it to anyone. Could her life get any worse!?

Emerie and Drew take us on a frustrating, funny, sexy and sweet journey in this book! She hates him, yet they begin to get along and she begins to wonder how “things” would be with him. Will she act on them? Drew has such a past with women, will he let this little firecracker past those walls he’s built up?

Oh my gosh, what a book this was!! I was captivated from the beginning! Loved Emerie and Drew, the bantering between them was as funny as it was hot!! I was so annoyed at Drew, yet he was so funny and sexy with a capital S, it was hard not to fall in love with the guy!! A great book and a must read!!

EGOMANIC by Vi Keeland was my very first read by this author and let me tell what an amazing book to get started with.

The story of this book was very well written and the plot is very fast paced, the characters are just swoon worthy, so much so that there are no words for them and the amazing chemistry that Drew and Emerie have right from the get go, again swoon, and then there are the laugh out loud moments that will just get you.

Emerie has just relocated to New York, she followed her best friend (whom she wants to be more) there and thinks that she has rented a newly remodeled office space for next to nothing (which is a score for her), but when Drew comes home from vacation and finds her in his office he is set to call the cops and have her arrested, but the minute Emerie opens her mouth his feelings change and Drew even ends up letting her stay in the extra office (for reasons of his own desires).  Will this office arrangement work between Drew and Emerie, how can it with the growing attraction between (for both of them)?  The back forth funniness with Drew and Emerie is what makes this story so good, but as with any good thing there has to be a monkey wrench thrown in to make all the good times come crashing down, will Emerie and Drew end up together of is life going to get in the way???

EGOMANIC by Vi Keeland was opened and read in one sitting and given how amazing this read was I will be one clicking some more of her work in the near future.  I would give EGOMANIC 4/5 stars.
