Review

After watching his relationship implode on the same weekend he planned to tell Maddie he loved her, Grayson has spent the last few years trying to get her to just listen to his side of things. So when his friend asks him to agree to be auctioned off for charity, he comes up with an idea…

Maddie has a hard time trusting people. Between what happened in college and her disastrous relationship with Grayson, she thought she was done with men until she watched her two best friends fall in love. So when her best friend asks her to get to know and bid on one of the bachelors at her upcoming charity auction, Maddie decides that it’s time to see if she can reclaim her life…

Grayson knows he’s taking a big risk in pretending, just to get the chance to talk to Maddie. He hopes when she finds out that she’s bidding on HIM, she still gives him the chance to make things right. Because he’s done trying to live without her…

I have to say that for the most part, this was a very enjoyable story. There is plenty of heat, and Grayson is the type of guy we all hope to find. And if you’ve read this far, understand that this isn’t “just” a second chance romance. This story is also about perception and learning to trust. Which brings me to the only issue I had with the story – communication. Even though it’s MY pet peeve, it was enough to take this story down to a 4 star read. Other than that, it was definitely a story that I’m glad I read. – Reviewed by Rachael Fick
