A year ago, Jackson Burke was married to the love of his life and playing quarterback for the Texas Redhawks. Now he’s retired, courtesy of the car accident that ruined his career—and single, after a nasty scandal torpedoed his marriage. Just as he’s starting to get used to his new life as a health and fitness columnist for Oxford magazine, his unpredictable ex shows up on his doorstep in Manhattan. Jackson should be thrilled. But he can’t stop thinking about the one person who’s always been there for him, the one girl he could never have: her younger sister.
Mollie Carrington can’t say no to Madison. After all, her older sister practically raised her. So when Madison begs for help in winning her ex-husband back, Mollie’s just glad she got over her own crush on Jackson ages ago—or so she thought. Because as Mollie reconnects with Jackson, she quickly forgets all her reasons to stay loyal to her sister. Tempted by Jackson’s mellow drawl and cowboy good looks, Mollie is sick and tired of coming in second place. But she can’t win if she doesn’t play the game.

Review

Jackson Burke, was once a very famous quarterback for the Texas Redhawks and football was his life. Until a terrible accident took everything from him. His wife divorced him, he can’t play football and the only thing he wants to do now is to move on.

After a while of getting back on his feet, Jackson started his new life as the Health and Fitness Columnist for the Oxford magazine. His life is slowly mending back together in New York when his ex-wife shows back up in his life asking for a second chance. Jackson loves his ex-wife, but the one that has always stuck by him and who he’s truly has feelings for wasn’t Madison, his ex-wife, but her sister, Mollie Carrington.

Mollie isn’t anything like her sister Madison, but they both like the same guy. Jackson Burke. She was always there for Jackson when his wife was too busy spending all the money he earned during his football years. Mollie’s crush for Jackson has been on going since she was younger, but now that she’s an adult and her sister is no longer married to Jackson she knows that they can never be. Until…the truth is revealed on how her sister truly treated Jackson. All bets are off now.

Is Jackson and Mollie’s relationship already doomed and what happened with Jackson and his ex-wife?

This book has so much things going on, but I never got confused. The dramatics and the aspect of a forbidden love story was written so well that it was a breeze to read. Complete page turner and scorching sex scenes that will have you staying up! There was no cheating between the two sisters (Madison: aka ex-wife, Mollie: the sister and Jackson: ex-husband and crush).

I can’t wait to read the next installment. I hope it’s about Lincoln because that man defiantly needs a story!!
