Annika Lund is in charge of the PR department at Lund Industries. She’s known as an Ice Queen. Her mother is Swedish, so Annika also speaks it.

Axl is a hockey player, also known as a playboy and continues to get in trouble. He’s from Sweden (see where this is going?) and lets everyone think he speaks no English, so therefore, needs an interpreter. Because of his “playa” tendencies, he was traded from the Chicago Blackhawks to the Minnesota Wild.

Annika’s mom and her brother’s agent team up together to get Axl on the right road to clean up his reputation. The best way to help him…she’ll pretend to be his girlfriend. What neither counted on was the fireworks and major chemistry between them! Will this pretend relationship turn into a real one?

I loved Annika and her names for Axl (pucktard was my favorite)! He’s such a jerk, but I did fall in love with him! This was a long story and I glazed over at the hockey parts (I’m not a sports fan) but overall it was an enjoyable book! – Reviewed by Judy

Jade is driving herself crazy working three jobs to earn enough money to live on her own but she really needs to get out after she finished her degree in something she can’t use. When her dad decides he should sent her Grandmother GG to a rest home Jade is mad so her dad sends Jade to check in her.
Jade knows there is a man living with her temporarily to make sure no one sends her away but she didn’t expect such hostility.
Tobin is floored on how beautiful GG’s granddaughter is but he will be dead before he lets her move GG. As they begin to argue GG tells them they can’t even be in the same room as each other so they don’t fight. As they try to stay out of each other’s way they find they are drawn to each other and rule begins to fly out the window.
Jade and Tobin begin to fall more in love every day and trying to sneak around is getting crazy plus Jade is supposed to leave soon and Tobin is trying to find a job away from there. This story held a lot of surprises and it was enjoyable reading this story as the relationship develops. I think my favorite character was GG she was just what you would want in a grandmother. Good story that makes you want to read some more so I can’t wait for the next one. – Reviewed by Linda Rea

I believe that love is stronger than death.

That had become my mantra, my focal point in the last seven days, ten hours, and thirty-four minutes since the highway patrolman had knocked on my door.

I’m sorry to inform you that Michael Darby was involved in an accident and died at the scene. He listed you as his emergency contact.

The rest of what he’d said had been a blur.

At first I thought there’d been a mistake. Michael Darby and Mick Darby. I’d never called him Michael. He never called himself Michael. So maybe the cops had it wrong. Maybe there was another person’s life they should be destroying with this bad news that their lover was dead.

So I argued.

Then the officer calmly pulled Mick’s driver’s license out of the leather wallet I’d given him for Christmas.

And then I knew it was true.

Mick was dead.

How could he be dead?

How was that f*cking fair? He’d survived four wartime deployments overseas during his military career. Four years in hell. Only to be killed by a jack slipping and crushing him beneath the wheel of a car.

The injustice infuriated me. Mick being a good guy once again. The Samaritan who always stopped to help. Only this time his helpful nature had gotten him killed.
