Review

I read for lots of different reasons, and therefore I like to read lots of different kinds of books. Layla Hagen is one of my favorite authors, whether she is writing her new adult series or angsty reads like, Withering Hope. However, she has really hit her stride writing contemporary romance. I truly enjoyed book one of the Bennett Family series, Your Irresistible Love. Sebastian is one of my favorite book boyfriends, but his brother Logan? Well, he stole my heart. His book, Your Captivating Love, is the best kind of romance–escape. He may very well be the perfect blend of caveman and gentleman. If I want real life, I’ll look at the man snoring on my couch, in a book I want Logan.
The Bennett family is large and may be a bit to much into each other’s business. The sisters love to play matchmakers for their brothers, and their sights are set on Logan and Sebastian’s fiancee’s best friend, Nadine. There is an immediate attraction, but both have been devastated by love in the past and are reluctant to commit to a relationship. Agreeing to date without commitment appears to be the answer, but Logan’s fierce, protective inner caveman wants to make Nadine’s life simpler. He has always been the slayer of dragons for his family, especially his sisters and he wants Nadine under his protection. Even when he does the wrong thing, he does it for the best possible reason, love. The man is truly swoon worthy.
Nadine has had a tough life, growing up and playing the parent to her ill mother and loving the wrong man. Her dream is to design high-end dresses and run her own shop. Talented and headstrong, Nadine never asks for help, but when it is offered she is reluctant to take it. Luckily the Bennett family rarely takes no for an answer. The couple’s chemistry is off the charts and the sex scenes are sizzling hot.
Ms. Hagen weaves a well paced story of strength, family, and love. Her writing is clear and strong. The characters are well developed and their banter is funny and heart warming. While Logan may be too good to be true, he is certainly a man we would all like to find in our lives. Knowing that there are more books in this series makes me happy. I know that these old friends, like Sebastian and Ava will pop in to update their lives in future books. I can not wait for Pippa’s story.  – Reviewed by Karen Hrdlicka
