SCORCHED BY DESIRE
Dimitri lives to protect the secret of the Dragon Kings from the human race. Bound by a bond stronger than blood to the Kings, Dimitri uses his strength and prowess to defend a thousand-year-old secret. But when an oh-so-sexy, slightly absent-minded archaeologist wanders into his midst, Dimitri will have to give up his rules, and give in to desire...
When Dr. Faith Reynold stumbles upon an ancient skeleton that appears it comes from a dragon, she’s completely taken aback. A woman of science, there’s no way in her mind that this mythological creature can exist. But when a devilishly handsome man named Dimitri intercepts her path to uncovering the truth, Faith’s curiosity turns into all-consuming passion. She’s never felt this way about any man before. But when Dimitri reveals his biggest secret, can she learn to love the man—as well as the dragon within, in Firestorm, the next Dark Kings novel by New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant.

Faith has lived a lonely life and since her mom passed digging up history and fossils has become her life. For once she is excited about something that she discovered on Fair Isle …a dragon remains, but not everyone is happy about it.

On a faraway place called Dreagon where the Dragons kings live Con the King of the Dragon kings is worried because all dragons live or dead were to be removed from there so that the mortals would forget they existed. Con has decided that Dmitri will go as it was his home so it must be one of his dragons. What he doesn’t expect when he gets there is to be struck by his attraction to Faith and hers to him.

Faith doesn’t really date because it would just lead to heartache but something about this man has her twisted up in knots. When Dmitri decides instead of just destroying the dragon he will let Faith dig around a bit until mortals start to die at the hands of the Dark, a group of Fae that love you till your heart dies. When one of them pushes Faith to her death Dmitri is forced to show his Dragon form just to save her and risks discovery. When Faith realizes what he is it doesn’t change her opinion of him at all in fact the scientist in her wants to know more about the man and the dragon. When they decide to go back to Dreagon together and start to move the bones Dmitri gets a weird feeling that he can’t seem to shake and when they get to his home even weirder things begin to happen.

The book left me in a cliffhanger and I am not sure if more are coming or not but there is a lot more story to tell, and I am hoping Faith and Dmitri get a happily ever after. – Reviewed by Linda

****

Firestorm is the tenth installment of the Dark King series by Donna Grant.

Faith Reynolds is an archaeologist who has come across a dragon skeleton. For her this is a magnificent find. She would have shown her mother, who has always loved anything related to dragons, but isn’t able to now that she has passed away. Taking the find as a sign, she get’s protective of the skeleton.
Dimitri is not only immortal, but fierce Dragon. Many years ago, they all swore to keep their clan a secret from the humans. So, when he’s ordered to destroy evidence of the dragon skeleton he doesn’t hesitate, but when he finds the skeleton in the hands of a human, destroying the evidence is the last thing on his mind.

Donna Grant has created a magnificent world that will literally sweeps you away. With so many books, you’d think the story would get tiring, but it’s the opposite. Each book is like reaching a new level in a video game. Exciting, thrilling and incredibly stunning as you watch it all unfold.
In additional, the complexity of the storyline is so well crafted that it doesn’t take away from getting to know the characters

I can’t wait to see what else she has in store!

Highly recommend for those who enjoy fantasy and romance storyline. Even though this is part of a series, I didn’t feel like you need to read them in chronicle order.  – Reviewed by Julianne
