When three college besties meet three hot guys in Vegas, anything can—and does—happen. Book Four in the New York Times Wild Seasons series that began with Sweet Filthy Boy (the Romantic Times book of the year that Sylvia Day called “a sexy, sweet treasure of a story”), Dirty Rowdy Thing, and Dark Wild Night.
For two people ambivalent about dating and love, they sure get naked around each other an awful lot . . .
London Hughes is very content to surf daily, tend bar, hang out with her group of friends, and slowly orient herself in the years after college. Everything’s going great and according to the non-plan.
But when a wave knocks her for a loop one morning, then Luke Sutter’s flirtatious smile knocks her for another that evening, she veers slightly off course…and into his path. Sure, he’s a total player, but the Why not—it’s only one night is a persistent voice in her ear.
For his part, Luke’s been on hookup autopilot for so long that he rarely ever pauses to consider what he’s doing. But after an amazing time with London, he realizes that he hasn’t been moving on from a devastating heartbreak so much as he’s been drifting to wherever—and whomever—the current takes him. With London he wants more.
Every relationship involves two people…plus their pasts. And as much as she enjoys her fling with Luke, when London learns about his past—more specifically, who’s in it—everything becomes the brand of complicated she strives to avoid. It’s up to Luke then to change some things in order to try and ensure he’s not something she’ll outright avoid as well.

Review

Christina Lauren has the ability to deliver a combination of powerful emotions from the very start. Wicked Sexy Liar is no different.

This book is based on London, the sassy girl that’s is perfectly content with her place in life. Very easy going California girl who’s humor has me laughing in public. Says it like it is and is sexy and awkward all at the same time which I just absolutely adore!

Than we have Luke, meet London and he’s persuasive as ever and determined. Although this isn’t one of the type of books where man want woman, man gets woman if he pushes his will onto her. Nope, there’s an easy going, interesting dance between the two and we get into his head about how he’s not quite sure what to make of London or what is happening between the two.

As the two come together, something indescribable happens along the way. With strong supporting characters that make their appearances throughout the book it’s a fun and excited read. Than again, you know you can’t go wrong when you’re instantly bursting in laughter from page one. That is when you know you’re in for a ride. 5 Charming Stars.

Corin Thompson has watched both of her parents passing away one after the other at a young age and now…she’s convinced that she will die too. Every time she sneeze, coughs, feels too warm or suddenly feels pain, she’d off to the doctor and everyone of them tell her she’s in perfect health. Corin doesn’t believe them. She knows what her fate is and she’s in constantly in fear of dying just like her parents.

Beckett Kingsley is going to die. He joined a support group and met Colin. He was fascinated by her. Not only does she understand the pain and fear that has plunged his heart, but she made him realize that he wants to live. His time is limit for the life he has left, but despite having heart failure he’s ready to make the best of his condition and he wants Corin by his side.

This was a beautifully written story. I felt the pain and fears between these two broken hearts and yet they managed to mend themselves back together. Beautiful yet delicate journey that will have you feeling every emotional possible. Not only does this book shedding light on people like Corin, but it also shows that we should be embracing life instead of waiting for the next shoe to drop.

I highly recommend this book!!

This was my first read from Jeanette Grey and I will be definitely reading more from her.

When the Stars Align is a book about a group of elite students who are selected to spend the summer in Puerto Rico to work with scientists in their chosen field.

Jo Kramer is a woman who is so tough and strong on the outside that she even gives off a stay away vibe to any who who tries to get close. She is hell bent on proving herself on this trip and is only focused on work. Jo has never really been shown any love or affection and really doesn’t have anyone in her life.

Until Puerto Rico, Jo thinks this is a great way to be as she can’t get hurt. What Jo doesn’t see coming Is how much she will change on this trip.

Adam is a guy hung up on an Ex, he is on the trip to further his future career but he is also glued to his phone waiting for his ex Shannon to call. When Adam meets Jo for the first he is literally floored as Jo uses self defense thinking he’s a creeper, but even with a bruised pride he sees something that perks his interest.

The relationship that develops is a friendship and mutual respect that quickly develops into so much more Adam really sees beyond Jo’s hard edges and finds the real Jo that even she doesn’t know exists.

This is definitely not a smooth ride for either of these two love birds, Jo fights her feelings every step of the way and Adam also has to let go of Shannon’s hold over him.

This is a beautifully written love story about so much more, it’s got some crazy HOT scenes between the two, there are scenes that will make you laugh, there are some heartfelt scenes when Jo deals with some family issues and I found it really reaches into you and makes you root for the vulnerable woman behind the disguise, it teaches us friendships can be unexpected and some people are just meant to be. Especially when the Stars Align.

I loved Adam and Jo’s story and highly recommend this book. It’s such a well written book that will have you reading through the night.
