The third in the hilarious yet sizzling hot Hudson Valley series from New York Time and USA TODAY bestselling author Alice Clayton.

Clara Morgan is living the dream, if you can call rebranding hotels that are desperate for a new life and running any kind of marathon a dream. Which she does. But the career she loves and the endurance races that keep her adrenaline pumping have kept her too busy to put down any roots. Growing up in foster care, she’s never been able to establish traditions of her own, which may be why she’s fascinated by the rituals that generations-old family resorts are known for. She’s especially interested in the Bryant Mountain House, and not just for their secret recipe for the yummy, gooey, can’t-get-enough-of Hot Cross Buns….

Archie Bryant, the man with the Buns, is fifth generation and one-day-owner of the charming yet run-down Bryant Mountain House in Bailey Falls, New York. He’s determined to save his family’s legacy from the wrecking ball the old-fashioned way—by gritting his teeth and doing what needs to be done. There’s no way Archie will be influenced by the new hotel branding expert his father brought in to turn one hundred and fifty years of tradition on its head just to attract a faster, younger, slicker crowd. But when some of Clara’s ideas start bringing in new, paying customers, Archie can’t deny that she may have just given him a shot at keeping his resort open.

It’s sticky, it’s messy, it’s sweet, it’s Buns.

Our friends from Bailey Falls are back. Buns is Clara Morgan’s story. It’s a fantastic story. Clara is fiercely independent. She doesn’t let anyone in. Except Natalie and Roxie. When she starts her job at the Bryant Mountain House, she doesn’t expect blue eyes and freckles. She needs to resist her attraction to Archie. She’s not staying in Bailey Falls.
I haven’t read a book by Alice Clayton that I didn’t love. This series is fantastically written. This group of friend’s have become family and the strength in them is unbreakable.
Told in Clara’ s POV, this book is full of laughter, friendship, and hot steamy love scenes. Can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the series in order. – Reviewed by Christina

They say it’s the quiet ones…but Clara can tell you it’s really the freckled ones with glasses. Clara, the last hold out in the troublesome trio from culinary school, is learning all about the buns in the Hudson Valley. The buns that everyone wants in their mouth.

Hardened Clara and Hotel Boy go round for round in this hotel rebranding. I’d say it’s a death match because it is brutal. Brutally hot, filled with lusty tension, and downright “loud”…with innuendo. What were you thinking?

The last of the trio has come to the Hudson Valley but she isn’t staying. She isn’t making plans. She’s here for work, nothing more. Not the crabby, arrogant Hotel Boy. Not the quaint town. She’s not even here for her besties. No, Clara is here to work out the kinks…(reign in that filthy mind, she’s not that wild) of this job. Not to experience the benefits. There are NO benefits. There is no…

Ok, fine. Clara lies to herself. I won’t continue to do it. You will just have to take her word for it. But I strongly advise, before you try the buns, that you check out the surrounding areas…starting with Maxwell Farms (Nuts) and even head over to Oscar Mendoza’s amazing farm (Cream of the Crop). You won’t want to miss everything this quiet little town has to offer. – Reviewed by Rebecca

Avery Bardot steps off the plane in Rome, looking for a fresh start. She’s left behind a soon-to-be ex-husband in Boston and plans to spend the summer with her best friend Daisy, licking her wounds—and perhaps a gelato or two. But when her American-expat friend throws her a welcome party on her first night, Avery’s thrown for a loop when she sees a man she never thought she’d see again: Italian architect Marcello Bianchi.
Marcello was the man—the one who got away. And now her past is colliding with her present, a present where she should be mourning the loss of her marriage and—hey, that fettuccine is delicious! And so is Marcello…
Slipping easily into the good life of summertime in Rome, Avery spends her days exploring a city that makes art historians swoon, and her nights swooning over her unexpected what was old is new again romance. It’s heady, it’s fevered, it’s wanton, and it’s crazy. But could this really be her new life? Or is it just a temporary reprieve before returning to the land of twin-set cardigans and crustless sandwiches?
A celebration of great friendship, passionate romance, and wonderful food, Roman Crazy is a lighthearted story of second chances and living life to the fullest.

Review

If I knew the Italian for “sigh”, I would use it wisely right here.

…Sigh…

Roman Crazy has the dangerous combination of:

1. gorgeous, sexy men…did I mention they are Italian? like from Italy…

2. accents…super sexy Italian accents falling from the mouth of the most gorgeous man in real life

3. Italy…did I not mention that the majority of this book takes place in…Italy…where hot Italian men speak with sexy voices and lingering accents

4. food…no judgements allowed. But who would turn down the sexy, mouth watering Italian food described in almost pornographic detail…yeah, the food will get you off too

5. the Italian sex god… did I mention him? Well, he needs to be mentioned more than once because….yeah, he’s that good.

Now that you have a few reasons to list after Roman Crazy, know that I couldn’t put it down. Sweet, sexy…very tempting…incredibly hot with tension that makes your mouth water- actually, the food references do that too…But a story that has you routing for the heroine, hero, and the bad guy too- eventually. Really, depending on the point of view, there’s more than one “bad guy”…

When life gets chaotic, Avery gets out of Dodge. Or at least this time she does, all the way to Rome. Looking for perspective and trying to figure out her future, Avery starts with a visit to a friend and finds herself. Lost long ago, she is learning…everything. Love, Loss, and second chances…everything.

I look forward to see more in the series…Daisy and Fiona peek my curiosity and I imagine some wild times there. hopefully, they’ve already started writing. – Reviewed by Beck Rendon

New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Alice Clayton brings her trademark blend of funny and sexy to this second contemporary romance in the brand-new Hudson Valley series!
Manhattan’s It Girl, Natalie Grayson, has it all: she’s a hot exec at a leading advertising firm, known industry-wide for her challenging and edgy campaigns. She’s got a large circle of friends, a family that loves her dearly, and her dance card is always full with handsome eligible bachelors. What else could a modern gal-about-town wish for? The answer, of course, is...cheese.
Natalie’s favorite part of each week is spending Saturday morning at the Union Square Farmer’s Market, where she indulges her love of all things triple cream. Her favorite booth also indulges her love of all things handsome. Oscar Mendoza, owner of the Bailey Falls Creamery and purveyor of the finest artisanal cheeses the Hudson Valley has to offer, is tall, dark, mysterious, and a bit oblivious. Or so she thinks. But that doesn’t stop Natalie from fantasizing about the size of his, ahem, milk can.
Romance is churning, passion is burning, and something incredible is rising to the top. Could it be...love?

Review

My first foray into Alice Clayton’s writing and I can say I will be playing catch up with all the others that have been sitting on my TBR.
She’s the city girl with a secret obsession for the country.
He’s the brooding, mysterious farmer that has her buying cheese weekly.

She lives for the smog, the over crowding, and the vibrant life.
He lives with cows.

Not saying that either is bad or wrong, but can they mix?

Natalie has learned to be very take charge. She is a powerful woman with a presence that gets noticed. Not for her size, but for her confidence. She is a ball busting, man eater who loves a challenge.
Except for him, one sight of the dairy man and she is a mumbling, tongue tied idiot. Always.

When chance puts them together, Natalie has learn to talk to him. Well, more than, oh yes.

It is a sweet story that brings you in and keeps you reading. You will fall for the town and characters so much, like me you’ll be looking for real estate. Bailey Falls is on my list to visit. Looks like I’ll be going back for Nuts and waiting for Clara’s story and the hotel. – Reviewed by Becky Rendon
