Fans of Empire will love Lisa Marie Perry’s stylish, addictive novels of passion, drama, and seduction. The high-powered men and women behind Devil’s Music have made their fortunes building the hottest label in hip hop, but it’s the action behind the scenes that’s seriously steamy.
For Dante Bishop, music died the night he found his father’s body next to a syringe of lithium. Ditching Atlanta, Dante jumped on his Harley and left the family business to his sister. She became the heart and soul of Devil’s Music—until the board, including Dante’s ex, masterminded a takeover. Years later, Dante’s doing something he never thought he’d do: returning to Georgia to put his songwriting skills to good use. Reuniting with Chelsea Coin only sweetens the deal.
As the perfectionist COO of Devil’s Music, Chelsea doesn’t dwell on the past. If she did, she’d never forgive herself for betraying the Bishops in a corporate power grab. Now Chelsea needs help to save the company, and Dante’s a nonnegotiable part of the arrangement. Still brooding and hot as hell, Dante wastes no time stirring up unfinished business—and carnal memories Chelsea would rather keep buried. She’s come too far to risk everything on a man. But for desire this intense, she might just enjoy the sexiest mistake of her life.

First let me start of by saying I hated giving this book 3 1/2 stars but the first half of the book just drug on and on and I was so lost.  There are so many different characters in this book sometimes its hard to keep up. There was so much drama.  Did I say DRAMA??? That’s what I kept asking myself, WTF!

By time you get to the middle of the book you finally get to the heart of the story. Dante Bishop is in love with Chelsea Coin but Chelsea lied over and over again and Dante couldn’t get over the lying so he left the music business and Atlanta to start over but when Devil’s music is in trouble Delilah Bishop goes to her brother Dante to help bring Devil’s Music back alive, little do you know the plans that Delilah really has since she was forced out of her fathers business and wants back in. Just a couple things that has me wanting book two. Delilah is CRAZY!  I want to find out how crazy she can get. I’d like to see what more happens between Delilah and Dante because there scenes in the book are off the charts HOT! I’d also like to see what transpires between the other key players of Devil’s Music. – Reviewed by Catherine

SIN FOR ME by Lisa Marie Perry has left me pondering for days about what to say about this book, the plot of the story was good, but the characters in this book (for me) were very shallow and self centered, they  used sex to get what they wanted and there are several times where they are cheating (for me that in book bothers me).

For the first half of this book I thought the story was about Delilah and her plot to get back her fathers company, Devils Music, but then about halfway through the main plot of the book switches to being about Delilah’s brother Dante and his need to first get revenge against his ex Chelsea for the way they broke up and then his need to win her back and pick up their relationship where they left off when they split up.  I just really don’t know what else to say about this book that will not sound bad, as the story line in the book was good just needed a little more substance to the characters. -Reviewed by Kendra

Review

Absolute Trust is the third installment of the True Heroes series by Piper J. Drake.

Brandon Forte has returned back to his hometown with an idea of opening a kennel for military service dogs that have seen their share of combat and loss. As Brandon takes a walk with Haydn, a military service dog who lost his owner and one of his limb, he runs into Sophia Kim. The one woman that he’s always loved from far. But when someone from his past targets Sophia, he’ll do anything to protect her. But who will protect him from her?

Sophia’s day started off bad, but when she spotted Brandon and his service dog, Haydn, her day seem to brighten… until her car became a ball of fire as she get’s pushed onto the sidewalk. Now she’s under Brandon’s protection until they can figure out who’s behind the attacks.

Absolute Trust is an interesting story as I got to know Brandon and Sophia. Their chemistry was simple and friendly, but as they spent more time with each other the chemistry begun to ignite into passion that would not be denied. In addition to the incredible spark between these characters, I really enjoyed seeing Haydn the service dog feel at home with these two. I love their interaction with him and seeing that he was well loved. Also having dual point of views was easy to follow. The one thing I found frustrating was having Brandon’s name constantly switching between his first and last name throughout the book. – Reviewed by Julianne Knutson

A dedicated American agent risks everything for a forbidden beauty in this sensual, turbo-charged novel from the RITA-nominated author of Against the Wall (“A sexy, unique love story that I devoured in one day.”—Monica Murphy).
Four years ago, when Ian Foster was working as a border patrol agent, he rescued an eighteen-year-old Mexican girl who’d been left for dead. He never forgot the gorgeous, resilient Maria Santos. Now Ian is an undercover ICE agent on the trail of a ruthless criminal with an intriguing connection: Maria. She holds the only clue to the man’s whereabouts. And Ian is tasked with crossing the border to find her.
Maria has always carried a torch for Ian, the handsome American who saved her life. When he shows up in her hometown, the attraction between them ignites. His intense gaze sets her blood on fire. But Maria is in serious danger. She owes a favor to a drug lord, and soon she’s caught in the crosshairs of a treacherous takedown operation. Once more, Ian’s her sole hope of survival—and his sizzling touch rekindles a passion that goes beyond borders.

It seems Ian can’t stay out of trouble. One woman has cost him two jobs. He doesn’t even know her that well. They aren’t married. Due to unusual circumstances, they have reunited after four years. However, it isn’t a happy reunion.

He is hunting her down. She isn’t aware he’s coming. When they get together all bets are off.

It’s an intriguing read. I am more aware of illegal immigration and it’s finer points than others. So I was very interested in seeing how this would play out. I really had fun reading it.

I mean who doesn’t love being chased by cartels and crooked cops. Excuse me, Federales aren’t all crooked. But…

Well you will just have to see won’t you! – Reviewed by Rebecca
