Review

Absolute Trust is the third installment of the True Heroes series by Piper J. Drake.

Brandon Forte has returned back to his hometown with an idea of opening a kennel for military service dogs that have seen their share of combat and loss. As Brandon takes a walk with Haydn, a military service dog who lost his owner and one of his limb, he runs into Sophia Kim. The one woman that he’s always loved from far. But when someone from his past targets Sophia, he’ll do anything to protect her. But who will protect him from her?

Sophia’s day started off bad, but when she spotted Brandon and his service dog, Haydn, her day seem to brighten… until her car became a ball of fire as she get’s pushed onto the sidewalk. Now she’s under Brandon’s protection until they can figure out who’s behind the attacks.

Absolute Trust is an interesting story as I got to know Brandon and Sophia. Their chemistry was simple and friendly, but as they spent more time with each other the chemistry begun to ignite into passion that would not be denied. In addition to the incredible spark between these characters, I really enjoyed seeing Haydn the service dog feel at home with these two. I love their interaction with him and seeing that he was well loved. Also having dual point of views was easy to follow. The one thing I found frustrating was having Brandon’s name constantly switching between his first and last name throughout the book. – Reviewed by Julianne Knutson
