I wondered when I started this series if Layla Hagen could deliver a great story for each of the nine Bennett siblings, if Your Inescapable Love is any indication of what is to come then bring on the rest of the Bennett clan. I absolutely adore this story. I loved the characters, the storyline, the seemingly less meddling siblings, and the sizzle between Max and Emilia.
Max has not been a major player in the previous three books, he is mentioned and because he is working out of the country, he has rarely been seen. However, his return to the heart of his family and their business brings his sexy story front and center. Max is an astute business and ladies’ man, not interested in having his sisters play matchmaker for him. An accident lands him in physical therapy with a sexy young woman that hardly resembles his best childhood friend. Trying to stay in the friend-zone with Emilia is a challenge for poor Max, one he struggles with. Afraid if sex and emotions come into play, both characters fear the loss of the friendship they have rekindled after years apart.
Emilia has a full plate, working full-time and caring for her grandmother with Alzheimer’s. Still stinging from being jilted by her fiance weeks before her wedding, Emilia is reluctant to attempt another relationship. Being reunited with Max brightens her otherwise routine life. However, the boy she left behind has grown into a panty-droppingly gorgeous man. She too tries to fight the chemistry between them. While their journey to HEA is far from smooth, the ride is deliciously sexy and sensual and a lot of fun. The banter and reminiscing from the couple is highly humorous and the Bennet family is every entertaining. I laughed and smiled reading this book, more than I have in anything I’ve read lately.
The writing flows well and the characters rapidly become like old friends. I like that Ms. Hagen gives the reader a look at what the previous couples are up to and what is going on in their lives. I am really anxious to see which sibling is the next victim of Ms. Hagen’s storytelling. – Reviewed by Karen Hrdlicka
