Review

Holy smokes what a prologue this book has!! I was hooked from then on!! Loved the authors warning about the book in the blurb!

Anaya was thirty minutes late to see Mr. Stone Black who owns an investment firm called Standbridge and Black Wealth Management Group. She wants to open a non profit organization for child abuse awareness. Her grandmother left Anaya money with instructions on how she wanted Anaya to use the money. Her grandmother knew that Anaya wanted to open a non-profit organization and there were to be two uses for her inheritance…1) to help with the start-up of her organization and 2) to ensure her happiness by doing whatever her heart desired. Mr. Black is totally upset with her for being late and ignores her when she comes in to teach her to be prompt. Of course, Anaya is mad because he’s ignoring her. But, he’s so gorgeous, her girlie parts are talking to her!!

Mr. Stone Black had a messed up childhood…BIG TIME!! He mother apparently had a pimp and she often got drunk and would bring men home that would beat her and torture her, yet her body would eventually given in to the sexuality of it! Each time this happened Stone witnessed it! He couldn’t move to stop it since he was just a child and didn’t understand, at first. He began to have dreams about him being with his mother (eww). As an adult he thinks all women are like his mother and are trash. So, he uses women for one encounter and throws them out. Until one day, at his office when he meets Anaya. There’s something thing there, could it be more than just a hit it and quit it?

Stone and Anaya’s relationship was very sexual and she was fine with that and so was he. They decided to be friends with benefits, with no love involved. Yea well, what happens when one of them grows feelings for the other? What will happen with Anaya when she finds out what a totally messed up childhood Stone had?

I loved this book! Like I said at the beginning of this review, I was captivated from the beginning. It was sexy, hot, dark and a little humor thrown in for good measure! Although Stone was messed up, I still loved his character. You understand why he was like he was, but what a man tramp he was! I LOVED IT! Anaya was a likable character, but I got kinda ticked at her when she blew up in therapy when she discovered what Stone went through as a child. Given the profession she was going into, she handled that very badly! But, it added depth to the story!
